TAP Portugal Terminal at John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)

TAP Portugal operates from Terminal 1 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The TAP Portugal Terminal at JFK offers direct daily flights to Lisbon,  handling both departures and arrivals. 

In November 2021, TAP Portugal resumed its services to JFK after a hiatus. As of 2026, the airline continues to operate non-stop flights from JFK to Lisbon.

Departure at TAP Portugal JFK Terminal

TAP operates nonstop flights from Terminal 1 to Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS). The airline also offers direct flights from TAP Portugal JFK Terminal to Ponta Delgada in the Azores. 

TAP departs from JFK Terminal 1 at 10:00 PM and arrives in Lisbon the next day at 10:05 AM. The non stop approximately takes approximately 6h 50m to travel from JFK to Lisbon.

Check-in: The TAP Portugal check-in counter at JFK is located on Level 3, which is the Departures Level of Terminal 1. Passengers with checked baggage must drop off their bags at this counter. Even if they have completed online check-in, they still need to collect the boarding pass from the check-in counter.

Security screening: TSA security checkpoint for TAP Portugal fliers is located on Level 3. Travelers must have their boarding pass and ID/passport handy to enter security.

Boarding: TAP Portugal begins the boarding process at JFK 45 minutes before departure. The boarding pass and display screens show gate information for JFK. Gates 1-4 in Terminal 1 are dedicated to TAP Portugal boarding.

Baggage claim: After passport control, the passenger proceeds to the baggage claim area. Carousels 5-8 are assigned to TAP Portugal arrival flights. If the missing or delayed travelers can report the issue at the TAP baggage service desk located inside the arrivals halls. 

Customs: After collecting baggage, passengers proceed through customs inspection. Travelers must submit a customs declaration form. Also, officers may conduct a brief inspection of both checked and carry-on luggage.
