JetBlue Terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)

JetBlue Airways operates all its flights from Terminal 5 at John F. Kennedy International Airport. The JetBlue terminal at JFK handles both domestic and international departures. Terminal 5 sits on the south side of the airport and connects to all other terminals through AirTran JFK. 

JFK Terminal 5 opened in 2008. The terminal offers free Wi-Fi, multiple charging stations, and an outdoor post-security space where passengers can get fresh air.

Most travelers reach the JetBlue terminal at JFK by AirTrain, subway, Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), taxi, rideshare, or private car. 

JetBlue JFK Departure Terminal

Terminal 5 serves as the dedicated JetBlue departure terminal at JFK Airport. The airline operates nonstop flights to many international destinations, including:

• San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU)

• Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ)

• Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (SDQ)

• Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ)

• San Pedro Sula, Honduras (SAP)

• Kingston, Jamaica (KIN)

• Georgetown, Guyana (GEO)

• Nassau, Bahamas (NAS)

• Vancouver, Canada (YVR)

JetBlue also operates flights to many cities from JFK Terminal 5, including Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. 

Check-in: JetBlue opens check-in three hours before departure. The JetBlue check-in counter operates on Level 3 in the Departures Hall of Terminal 5. 

• Passengers can use self-service kiosks located next to the JetBlue check-in counters. These kiosks print boarding passes and baggage tags. 

Pro tip: Follow the “JetBlue Check-In” signs as soon as you enter the departure level of Terminal 5. 

Baggage drop: JetBlue places a baggage drop counter next to self-service kiosks. Passengers must attach their baggage tags before approaching the counter. JetBlue staff weigh, verify, and accept checked luggage at the baggage drop area. 

Security screening: TSA operates the security checkpoint on Level 3. After completing check-in and baggage drop, passengers must follow the signs marked “Security / TSA Checkpoint.” Terminal 5 provides TSA PreCheck lanes for eligible passengers.

Boarding gate: JetBlue locates all boarding gates on the Level 3 concourse. Terminal 5 includes gates numbered 1 through 30. JetBlue closes boarding 30 minutes before departure, so passengers must arrive at the gate on time.

JetBlue Arrival Terminal JFK

JetBlue Airways operates all arriving flights at John F. Kennedy International Airport Terminal 5. The JetBlue arrival terminal at JFK includes arrival gates, immigration facilities, baggage claim areas, customs processing, and direct access to ground transportation.

Domestic arrivals: After landing, passengers exit the aircraft and enter the arrival corridor. They follow the signs to Baggage Claim. Electronic display screens show the flight number and assigned carousel. 

Domestic travelers do not complete immigration or customs procedures. After collecting their luggage, they proceed directly to the public transportation area. 

International arrivals: JetBlue operates international flights to JFK from the Caribbean, Latin America, and select transatlantic destinations. 

• Immigration: Passenger proceeds to the immigration area on Level 1 inside the secured international arrivals section. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers check passports, collect biometrics, and approve entry into the United States. 

• Baggage claim: Both domestic and international passengers use the same baggage claim area. Travelet must collect their checked luggage before proceeding to customs. 

• U.S. Customs: Passengers will submit their customs declaration to the officers. Officers may inspect baggage during this process.

• Exit to Public Arrivals Hall: After completing immigration and customs, passengers enter the public arrivals hall. International travelers exit into the same arrivals area that domestic passengers use.

JetBlue JFK Terminal Map

The JetBlue JFK terminal map features a single-level main hall for check-in and arrivals. In addition, the terminal 5 has post security gate area before security includes ticketing and restaurants. 

Post security, two concourses lead to the boarding gates. 

The walking distance between most boarding gates stays under five minutes. Elevators and escalators connect all levels.

In addition, there is a hotel inside JFK Terminal 5 - the TWA Hotel. Arriving JetBlue passengers can walk from the terminal to the hotel without going outside. 

JFK Terminal 5 parking uses the Yellow Garage, which is located across from the terminal.
