Delta Airlines operates all its flights from Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport. The Delta Terminal at JFK offers flights to both domestic and international destinations. The airline’s codeshare partners, like Aeromexico, KLM, LATAM, Virgin Atlantic, and WestJet, will also use Terminal 4.

Delta Airlines JFK Departure Terminal

Delta Airlines manages its entire departure operation for both domestic and international flights from JFK Terminal 4. The JFK Delta Terminal has two concourses - A and B, which feature 48 gates. Delta Airlines uses these gates for domestic, international, and connecting flights. 

Destinations that Delta Airlines serves from JFK Terminal 4 include Atlanta (ATL), Detroit (DTW), Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP), Los Angeles (LAX), Salt Lake City (SLC), Seattle (SEA), Boston (BOS), Miami (MIA), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), and Orlando (MCO. 

Delta JFK Terminal 4 also covers flights to international networks such as Amsterdam (AMS), London, Paris (CDG), Athens (ATH), Madrid (MAD), and Rome (FCO). 

The airline from Terminal 4 also offers flights to Caribbean destinations like Aruba (AUA), Nassau (NAS), and San Juan (SJU)

Check-in: The Delta check-in counter in JFK Terminal 4 opens four hours before departure for international flights and closes 1 hour before. There is no separate level for the domestic vs. international check-in process. At Terminal 4’s Departure Level, Row 2 is assigned for the Delta check-in counter. 

Baggage: The baggage counter at the Delta departure JFK terminal is located next to the check-in counter on the 4th-floor Departure Level. 

Security screening: The security screening options available for Delta Airlines passengers include standard TSA, TSA PreCheck, and CLEAR. Besides, the T4 RESERVE also facilitates faster security checks and is available for free where passengers have to spot their schedule in advance.

Boarding gates: Concourse A features gates between Gates A1–A10 and offers departure for Delta flights to Asia and Europe. These boarding gates also handle a handful of domestic flights. Gates between B20–B55 at Concourse B also handle domestic and international flights. 

Delta lounges at JFK: Post-security passengers can access Delta Sky Clubs in Terminal 4, which are located in Concourse A near A8 and Concourse B near B31.

Delta Airlines Arrival Terminal JFK

All Delta Airlines flights — domestic and international — arrive at Terminal 4. The New York JFK Delta Terminal handles arrivals, immigration, customs, and baggage claim.

Domestic travelers: Passengers arriving on a domestic Delta flight will arrive at the Gate located at Concourse A or B. Passengers walk directly into the arrival corridor. Passengers go straight to the Baggage Claim, Terminal Lower Level. From here, passengers must exit to the ground transportation. 

International travelers: Passengers arriving on an international Delta Airlines flight usually arrive at Terminal B and follow the signs for “Arrivals / Passport Control”. Proceed to the Federal Inspection Services (FIS) Area. All U.S. citizens and foreign nationals must clear immigration here. There is a dedicated Global Entry lane located in the arrivals area. 

Baggage claim: Immediately after the Passport Control located the Baggage Claim area. Delta Airlines passengers collect the baggage from the assigned carousel. The flight number will be displayed at each carseilse so check the carousel number for the arrival flight. 

Custom Inspection: Located right after the Baggage Claim, where travelers hand over the customs declaration. The baggage would be inspected or waived through. This step is mandatory for all international travellers. 

Connecting to a Delta flight: Passengers connecting to another Delta flight inside the terminal have to recheck their bags immediately at the Delta transfer belt.

For arrivals, passengers head directly to baggage claim, while international travelers clear immigration and customs before collecting luggage.
