John F. Kennedy Airport Terminal 5 opened in 2008 and is located behind the iconic TWA Flight Center landmark. 

In addition, Terminal 5 is undergoing major upgradation, adding over 40 new shops and dining outlets. The Central Concourse is redesigned to get more indoor greenery,  park-style seating, and artwork created by New York-based artists. 

2025 witnesses the opening of new shopping options at JFK Terminal 5, and more is expected by the ned of 2026.

Termianl 5 at JFK has multiple levels - Arrivals Level features a lost and found section, baggage claims, and immigration counters. On the other hand, the Departure Level has an Information Centre, check-in areas, baggage drop facility, and security screening. 

Terminal 5 has boarding gates numbered from Gate 1 to Gate 30. Gates 25 to 30 cater to international departures.

Opened in 2008, Terminal 5 at JFK handles mainly domestic flights and limited international operations. JetBlue handles most of the flight operations here, followed by Sun Country Airlines and Cape Air.

The terminal has an easy layout, especially for new travelers with arrivals on Level 1 for baggage claim and departure on higher levels, which features check-in, security, and boarding gates.
